Picking a Location
The location of your session will set the tone for the photos. The location of your session is up to you! I love exploring, and I’m happy to offer custom location suggestions based on your vision for the shoot. Here are some things to think about when picking a location.
If you are unsure about locations, I recommend thinking of places that are special to you and your partner. Are there any places that are significant to you both? For example, is there a park where you had your first date? Alternatively, try thinking of things that you love to do together. If you love hiking together, perhaps consider a location that offers hiking trails where the photos can showcase your relationship and what you love to do together. Ultimately, I recommend picking a location that will represent you and your partner.
As you probably know, I love outdoor adventures. If you do too, you may want to incorporate an outdoor adventure into your session. If you want to incorporate hiking, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, camping, rock climbing, or any other adventure into your session, we can make it happen!
What type of location do you envision? Again, I recommend thinking about what kinds of places you and your partner love to spend time in. Since I specialize in outdoor sessions, I love to shoot in parks and natural areas. Location types can include mountains, red rocks, sand dunes, streams, gardens, canyons, or even urban areas. I have lots of location ideas, so if you have a vibe in mind but not a specific location, let me know and I'm happy to help you decide on a spot.
Things to think about when picking a location
Some locations may require a permit to have professional photography done at their site. These permits may require additional fees or processing time. National Parks, some state parks, and some privately owned properties require permits. You will be required to pay the permit fees or entrance fees. Don't let this intimidate you though! I will let you know if an area needs a permit, and I will handle the permitting process. If I have never shot at a location that you're interested, I will do the research about permits and such. I'm just giving you a heads up that permits and entrance costs are a thing. :)
I can photograph you in any location. What matters most is what you envision for your session. I am always happy to provide guidance and locations recommendations!
